Dear Honorable Participants:

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our pleasure to have you joining the 9th International Symposium of Rice Functional Genomics (ISRFG 9) in Taipei, Taiwan on November 7-9, 2011. The isrfg is a great scientific platform for scholars to exchange new research face to face.

Our symposium covers a wide range of issues this year: evolutionary genomics, development, abiotic stress, comparative genomics, small RNA, nutrition, translational genomics, epigenetics, agronomic trait, biotic stress, informatics approach/resource, molecular breeding, Rice SNP Discovery Project, Rice Annotation Project, International Oryza Map Alignment Project. We have 78 speeches and hundreds of posters.

Last but not least, Taiwan is a wonderful country with fusion of tradition and modern. It was the homeland of Dee-Geo-Woo-Gen (sd1). Both japonica and indica rice are consumed in Taiwan.
